The Glass House pool opens for the season tomorrow, May 1st. I went up to the 8th floor pool deck today and it looks great. The patio furniture is out and the pool is waiting for its first swimmers. The pool is heated to 82 degrees so it will be nice even if the weather is a bit cool. The beautiful flowers and landscaping will be here within a few weeks and summer will be in full swing. Living in Glass House sure has some advantages. If you are interested in buying a home in this building, click here for the availability.

With all of the great sports teams in Denver, it is important to have a place to hang out while watching the game. McLaughlin’s is the perfect spot to watch the Nuggets and Avalanche in the playoffs. They have a great happy hour menu with two for one drink specials from 3-7pm every day and then another late night happy hour from 10-midnight. Great drinks paired with delicious food make it a neighborhood favorite. Enjoy their patio on the warm summer nights before you head to the Rockies. McLaughlin’s, located in Riverfront Park, is a 10 minute walk to Coors Field and 7 minute walk to Pepsi Center if you are lucky enough to attend the games. Keep it in mind as a great place to start or end an evening of sports.

Over the past week the average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage jumped from about 5% to 5.3%. Interest rates are on the rise and many buyers are starting to realize now really is a GREAT time to buy. The famous saying “You don’t know what you have until it’s gone” is now more true than ever. The government has ended the push to make mortgages cheaper. Buyers are starting to panic that if they wait much longer they will be priced out of the market. According to MSN Money, the rule of thumb is for every 1 percentage-point increases in interest rates reduces a buyer’s purchasing power by 10%. If you are considering buying a home, now truly is the time. Give me a call; I would be honored to help you find your dream home.
Spring is here! Nothing makes me think more of spring than the start of the baseball season. Today is the Colorado Rockies Home Opener at Coors Field and I’m proud to say that our Slifer, Smith & Frampton-Denver team will work a half day today to go cheer on the Rockies. With the close proximity to Coors Field, Riverfront Park is an ideal location for the athletes or the sports fanatics. It is easy to plan a day at the game or to stop by the field for a couple of innings. It’s only a 10 minute walk. Riverfront is so close that some of our residents can even see the grass on the field from their homes. GO ROCKIES!!!
