Right now is truly a great time to buy real estate. For the first time since 1971, 30 year fix rate loans are at historic lows. The average interest rate is right around 4.69%! This is a great incentive to purchase a home in this market. With rates being so low and home prices down, purchasers are able to get more bang for their buck. Give me a call if I can help you take advantage of this incredible opportunity!

The Denver Bike Share program is having great success after only 6 weeks. Since the launch of B-Cycle on Earth Day, there have been almost 8,000 registered users. Over 10 percent of those people have signed up for an annual membership! There are 42 stations all over the metro area with 400 bikes in circulation. While there are still a few hiccups, the program is working and people are enjoying the concept. Bike sharing is designed for short one way trips, it costs $5 for a 24-hour period. You can take as many trips as you would like in that time frame but if you keep the bike out of a dock for over 30 minutes, usage fees start to rack up. It has been so much fun to see people riding around Riverfront Park on the red bikes. Every time I walk past the Commons Park B-Cycle station there is a different number of bikes on the rack. It is a great way to explore and see the city on a beautiful summer day.
Railyard Dogs off-leash dog park has been given the green light to start! It will be located in Riverfront Park at the corner of 19th and Bassett Street. In 2004 a group of downtown residents joined together for the purpose of creating a place for dogs to run off-leash and their owners to mingle in a downtown urban environment. This group and East West Partners has worked hard over the past six years raising money to make this dream a reality.
We are planning to start in about 2 weeks – that’s about how long it will take us to mobilize the subcontractors to build it and other little legalities. We have raised most of the money, and now the Riverfront Park Community Foundation is giving us a loan for the final amount. We still need to raise money but the Foundation is matching us dollar for dollar, up to $42,000.
We need your help! You can purchase a brick that you can customize for only $120.00. You can pay tribute to wonderful dogs of the past, recognize your best four legged friend or leave your name in the park forever. Purchase a brick before June 15th to make sure your brick is a permanent part of the dog park by opening day.
It’s easy to donate, either go to www.RailyardDogs.org and click on the paypal button to pay online or write a check payable to The Railyard Dogs and drop it off at the Riverfront Park Sales Center located at the base of the Millennium Bridge or mail it to: Lindsay McBride 1610 Little Raven Street, Ste. 115, Denver, CO 80202.
