This Sunday, October 3rd is the 18th annual Denver Race for the Cure. Join 60,000 strong in the fight against breast cancer. If you have never participated, it is one of the most inspiring experiences. This year will be incredibly special because Nancy G. Brinker, the Founder and CEO of Race for the Cure will be speaking at the closing ceremony. There is still time to register! You can register online until Friday night or register at the door. There are three races, a 7:00 am Co-Ed 5K Run/Walk, 8:00 am Co-Ed 5K Walk, 9:00am Family 1 Mile Fun Walk. Yes, you saw it right the race is Co-Ed so I encourage all of the men to join this fun event. Seventy five percent of the proceeds from the Race support local breast health education, early detection screenings and treatment programs. For more information, go to www.komendenver.org.

The long awaited off-leash dog park will open tomorrow! After seven years, $550,000 raised, countless hours of work and planning, the dog park will become a reality. East West Partners is proud to say that the park will be open to the public as of 7:00pm tomorrow night. There will be a dedication ceremony tomorrow at 5:00 for everyone that has helped make this park happen. We are still looking to raise the final $20,000. If you would like to join us tomorrow at the dedication ceremony, you can donate at the door. Thank you to all of our donors and a special thanks to the Riverfront Park Community Foundation that donated over 1/2 the money to make the Railyard Dog Park a reality!

The Red Forest, Riverfront’s newest permanent art piece, is almost complete. Australian artist Konstantin Dimopoulos specifically designed this sculpture for this space in the Riverfront Park Plaza under the Millennium Bridge. It looks like a field of giant red and orange reeds or grasses, gently swaying in the wind to mimic the rhythms of nature. The artwork was funded by the Riverfront Park Community Foundation with the artist selection process overseen by the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs. It’s pretty cool and adds color to the beautiful Riverfront Park Plaza.
