Glass House Pool opens May 1st!

All of the Glass House residents are anxiously awaiting the pool opening on May 1st!  The Glass House pool is one of the hottest places to spend your time during the summer months.  It’s hard to describe the amazing community that lives in the building, but going out to the pool deck on a Sunday afternoon will give you a pretty good idea.   There are residents of all ages enjoying the summer weather.  Someone will start cooking a bunch of hamburgers and hotdogs and before you know it, there’s an impromptu pot luck!  The pool is so much fun and opens this Sunday!

The Red Forest Wins Award!

The Westword’s Best of Denver Edition named the “Red Forest” sculpture in the Riverfront Park Plaza Best New Public Art for 2011!  Australian artist Konstantin Dimopoulos specifically designed this sculpture for this space in the Plaza under the Millennium Bridge.  It looks like a field of giant red and orange reeds or grasses, gently swaying in the wind to mimic the rhythms of nature.  The artwork installed last September, was funded by the Riverfront Park Community Foundation with the artist selection process overseen by the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs.

DaVita Construction

The new headquarters for DaVita is moving along quickly.  The Fortune 500 Company will have over 270,000 square feet of office space and intends to employ about 900 employees in the new building.  Last week a second crane was added and the elevator shafts are swiftly going vertical.  Everyday I’m amazed at the progress.  Its expected construction will be complete and the company can move into their new headquarters sometime in 2012!

Opening Day!

Spring is here!  Nothing makes me think more of spring than the start of the baseball season. Today is the Colorado Rockies Home Opener at Coors Field and I’m proud to say that our Slifer, Smith & Frampton-Denver team will work a half day today to go cheer on the Rockies. With the close proximity to Coors Field, Riverfront Park is an ideal location for the athletes or the sports fanatics. It is easy to plan a day at the game or to stop by the field for a couple of innings. It’s only a 10 minute walk. Riverfront is so close that some of our residents can even see the grass on the field from their homes.  GO ROCKIES!
