New Union Station Website

I’m excited to announce the launch of the new website for Slifer, Smith and Frampton – Denver’s sister company, the Union Station Neighborhood Company.  The website is for our team’s work at Denver’s Union Station.  The site should give you a pretty good idea of what our plans are there and the potential for real estate development.  We’re going to transform downtown Denver and the rest of the region.  It’s a project of which the whole city can be proud.
For those social media junkies amongst you, we’ve started a pretty thorough Facebook page that will be our place for sharing updates, news, and the like. And, we’ve put together a Twitter account for those of you with shorter attention spans:

Manhattan Phase Two Update

The Manhattan Phase two is coming along quickly.  It will consist of 134 apartments between two five story buildings.  The common areas are set to include a lounge, fitness center, leasing office, bike storage and one level of parking below grade.  By the end of the month, the concrete foundation will be complete.  In the next few weeks the stairwells and elevator cores will begin coming out of the ground and framing is set to start in August!  The completion date is on track for June of next year.  James Linsley, president of GID Urban Development Group said, “We are thrilled to break ground and introduce a new style of urban living to this vibrant neighborhood. Riverfront Park is a distinctly residential area with all of the energy that downtown life has to offer, including convenient walkability to major sporting events, world class museums, concert and entertainment venues, outstanding parks and open spaces, and a large variety of exciting shopping and dining choices.”

Bikes Are Taking Over the Streets

Downtown Denver has made great strides over the past two years to make the city a more bike friendly place.  Denver is a perfect location to invest in this type of infrastructure because of the good weather, flat terrain and the active lifestyle this city promotes.  Some of the improvements are bike lanes on Welton, Tremont, 13th, Champa and Bannock.  There are several other bike lanes planned to be implemented by the Spring of 2012.  Those include an extension on 19th, a buffered bicycle lane on 15th and a lane on 14th.  If you don’t have a bike downtown but would still like to take advantage of new bike lanes for errands, don’t forget about B-Cycle.  There are now 32 stations throughout the downtown area.
