The Railyard Dog Park is coming along nicely. All of the excavation of the dirt has been completed by Belair Excavating. This week they started importing and spreading the sand and gravel soil mixture. This is an elaborate system where the surface is a sand and gravel mix that overlays varying sizes of gravel and cobble. This will allow the liquid dog waste to percolate through the material and be naturally cleaned before reaching the native sand below the park. It’s a pretty cool solution for a dog park since grass never works long term. Encore Electric has set the electrical meter and the light pole bases in the park. Next week the irrigation work and concrete curbing throughout the park will commence. They are hard at work over there and on schedule to open Labor Day weekend! I will be sure to keep you posted about the grand opening party!
