You need to act fast if you want to take advantage the first-time homebuyer credit. Buyers must be under contract by April 30, 2010 and closed by June 30, 2010 to receive the $8,000 credit. Additionally, the tax credit has been expanded to include those in a higher income bracket and who currently own homes. Couples that earn as much as $225,000 a year and individuals earning up to $125,000 will qualify. For buyers looking to move-up it’s a $6,500 credit.
